As a Staff Accountant, you will support Ascentek's financial close process to ensure our financial statements are timely, accurate, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). You will prepare supporting documentation for assigned general ledger accounts, process manual journal entries as needed, and implement improvements that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our reporting. You will also play a key role in managing fixed assets, supporting our retail business, and working on various high-visibility accounting projects. Key Responsibilities Include:



  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliation for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Own the fixed asset close process by partnering with project managers to provide clear accounting guidance and ensure appropriate capitalization.
  • Participate in the monthly financial review process by researching and providing commentary around financial variances.
  • Reconcile fixed assets and intercompany balances to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with the year-end audit by preparing schedules and answering audit questions.
  • Support special accounting projects and financial analysis.



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field


Experience and/or Training:



  • 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a manufacturing environment


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



    • Basic knowledge of US GAAP
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards)
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset
    • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills



    Education:



    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation



    Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands:



    • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and use of hands for computer work
    • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs
    • Office-based environment with moderate noise levels
    • Requires strong reasoning, decision-making, and math skills


        The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $70,000 and $80,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



        1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
        2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
