AI Software Engineer Job details Posted 10 April 2026 Location Houston, TX Reference 996574 Job description AI Software Engineer (Agentic AI & Automation) Overview We are seeking an AI Software Engineer to design and build agentic AI systems that automate real business processes. This role is ideal for a strong software engineer who applies AI to workflow automation, system integration, and decisionmaking - rather than a profile centered on analytics, reporting, or visualization. You will help develop an AI agent platform that takes action: triggering workflows, integrating with enterprise systems, and enabling business teams to focus on their problems without managing underlying AI infrastructure. What You'll Do Design and build agentbased AI solutions that automate workflows, trigger system actions, and improve operational efficiency Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate realworld needs into scalable AIdriven solutions Design and implement cloudnative AI architectures using Microsoft Azure and established AI design patterns Build APIs and backend services that embed AI capabilities into enterprise systems Collaborate with AI Engineers and ML Engineers to evolve prototypes into productionready, enterprisescale platforms Build, deploy, and operate ML pipelines with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and security Orchestrate infrastructure for lowlatency, resilient AI workloads using infrastructureascode and automation Contribute reusable accelerators, templates, and patterns that increase delivery speed and consistency Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational best practices for AI systems in production Required Technical Skills Strong software engineering background with handson applied AI experience Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including AI/ML services and cloudnative architectures Handson experience deploying and operating ML pipelines using Azure Machine Learning Proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices Experience building APIs and automation for workflow and process orchestration Strong understanding of MLOps, model lifecycle management, and CI/CD for AI systems Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) Working knowledge of security, identity, and access control in enterprise cloud environments Preferred Qualifications Experience building or operating agentic AI systems Familiarity with Microsoft Foundry Experience with data engineering platforms such as Databricks, Spark, or Azure Data Factory Experience integrating AI services (e.g., cognitive services, computer vision, unstructured data processing) Experience 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, or machine learning engineering Proven experience delivering production AI or ML solutions in a cloud environment Experience collaborating with crossfunctional teams across engineering, architecture, and business functions Ways of Working Ability to work independently as a contractor while integrating effectively with an established team Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly Resultsoriented mindset focused on delivery and tangible business value Dexian stands at the forefront of Talent + Technology solutions with a presence spanning more than 70 locations worldwide and a team exceeding 10,000 professionals.
