JOB SUMMARY

The Coil Prep Operator role is a heavy assembly position that focuses on the processing and pressing of coil windings, a vital component subprocess in the assembly of our transformers. In this position, operators would train to upend, align/install components, inspect, final size and deliver Medium Power, Large Power, and Extra High Voltage coils. Processing methods include Oil Impregnation through a Vapor Phase process or Kerosene Vapor Phase and process using Iso-Static Press pallets. Operators will learn to operate Dake coil press, align clack row spacer columns, add/remove spacers, prep leads, install end assemblies, oil flow washers, and coil collars. Process will be expected to place coils on pallets using a forklift, load and unload processing chambers, utilize iso-static pressing assemblies by way of air bearing sleigh pallets. Operators will be expected to follow trained procedures, using print drawings and bills of materials, pressing sheets, small hand tools, calibrated equipment, pneumatic tooling, and required components to complete a winding for final delivery. These operations and procedures will involve both single and team movements like bending, twisting, kneeling, and utilizing overhead cranes, forklifts, or other powered industrial vehicles.
