Position Description: Manage Finance, Accounting, and Cost departments and serve as liaison with Turner local profit centers. Accountable for regional financial reporting and financial risk management ensuring adherence to company policy and procedure and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Reports to: VP, Regional Controller in collaboration with the Senior Vice President/Vice President General Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial and business decision leadership for core business activities and development of new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with profit center and regional executive team as advisor, counselor and highly valued partner. Collaborate with SVP and/or general manager on execution of business strategies, providing support as necessary for key business decisions. Participate actively in monthly EVP strategy and operating meetings.
  • Create supportive environment to develop high performing finance team, provide training opportunities and engage in mentoring relationships.
  • Lead accountants and other related team members, provide timely performance feedback and contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management systems.
  • Develop and deliver training to educate staff members regarding related department processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership team on development and preparation of annual profit plan and forecasting reports.
  • Develop, analyze and present periodic financial statements and reports for region.
  • Continually improve systems, processes and procedures to effectively support region and/or profit center, regional leaders and finance as a whole.
  • Lead cash management and profit enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure required bonding and insurance is obtained and maintained as required.
  • Assist Tax department with local municipality tax issues.
  • Oversee billing issuance, collection and overdue receivables.
  • Manage financial compliance to ensure rigorous and ethical standards of compliance with external requirements (e.g., GAAP, IAS, FARS, ERISA, IRS) and internal company policies (Accounting, Risk Management, Cost).
  • Drive focus on financial risk management and support development and implementation of policies/procedures to ensure clear and concise communication of these standards to internal constituents.
  • Actively promotes Turner through involvement in outside organizations.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program with minimum of 12 years of related experience in project or construction finance supporting field operations. If the Bachelor's Degree is not in Finance or Accounting or a related finance field, completion of, or a commitment to pursue within one year, an approved accounting certificate (e.g., post-baccalaureate coursework or an accredited certification program such as CMA, CFA, or among others) or advanced business degree (e.g., MBA or Finance related Master's Degree) is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting implications of various contract terms
  • Regional management experience required, ability to coach and mentor others
  • Proficient computer skills, financial system applications (e.g., SAP), and Microsoft Office suite of applications with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Executive level presence with ability to negotiate, influence, and engage others
  • Executive level presentation skills, anticipates needs of audience and tailors communications appropriately
  • Pursues everything with energy, drive and sees initiatives through to completion
  • Effectively work across functional lines and all levels within organization, willing to help out in areas outside of direct responsibility
  • Highly analytical and adept at processing and breaking down data into actionable information
  • Applies business maturity to synthesize complex concepts and information
  • True collaborator, maintains balanced view of business and effectively challenges senior management, providing candid and honest assessment
