Mead & Hunt is seeking an experienced and results-driven IT Director to lead the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of the company's internal information technology services. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the IT Director plays a critical leadership role in ensuring technology platforms, systems, and services reliably support business operations and long-term growth.

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations across infrastructure, applications, data platforms, security, and end-user services while translating enterprise technology strategy into effective execution. The IT Director partners closely with business leaders and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing IT solutions aligned with organizational priorities. This role is designed with potential for growth into the CIO position as IT and business needs evolve.

This role can be remote as long as the successful candidate travels to and spends time in our various office locations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of IT operations, including infrastructure, enterprise applications, data platforms, security controls, and end-user computing services, with a strong focus on service quality, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Translate enterprise technology strategy and CIO direction into actionable roadmaps, operational plans, and execution priorities across IT teams.
  • Develop and execute the annual IT operational plan and budget, ensuring financial discipline, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement technology platforms, tools, and services that support business growth, operational excellence, and innovation, with an emphasis on Microsoft-based environments including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Implement and manage IT security, compliance, and business continuity practices, ensuring protection of company information, systems, and assets and adherence to applicable regulatory and internal policy requirements.
  • Continuously assess IT processes and services to drive operational efficiency, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and monitor metrics, performance indicators, and service standards to ensure effectiveness, quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency across IT services.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and implement AI-driven solutions and automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency, data insights, and user experience while ensuring responsible and secure use of emerging technologies.
  • Oversee vendor and service provider relationships, including contract negotiation, performance management, and service delivery oversight.
  • Provide strong people leadership, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and performance management of IT managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and development.
  • Promote strong collaboration across teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to systems delivery, support, and lifecycle management.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required and ten (10+) years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including senior leadership roles overseeing IT operations, infrastructure, and applications; if no degree much have at least fourteen (14) years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including senior leadership roles overseeing operations, infrastructure and applications
  • Leadership presence with interpersonal, collaboration and social skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing on-premises, hosted, and cloud-based systems, including enterprise applications (ERP), data platforms, business intelligence, infrastructure, and end-user technologies
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical leaders and teams in complex and evolving environments
  • Strong experience in IT operations management, process improvement, service delivery, and performance measurement
  • Solid understanding of IT security, risk management, compliance, and business continuity practices
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and vendor contracts
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational execution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience in professional services organizations
  • Familiarity with project management, and document control systems
  • Hands-on experience implementing or governing AI initiatives.
  • Experience supporting hybrid and distributed work environments.

Salary Range: $130,000 to $180,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
