Press Operator / Mechanical Assembler

Position Overview

The Press Operator / Mechanical Assembler is responsible for safely setting up and operating press equipment to produce quality parts that meet specifications. This role may also perform basic mechanical assembly work as needed to support production requirements. The position works closely with supervision, quality, and team members to ensure safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely set up, operate, and monitor press equipment in accordance with work instructions and safety requirements
  • Load raw material and unload finished parts from the press
  • Inspect inprocess and completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment within scope of training and authorization
  • Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks as assigned (e.g., fitting parts, using hand and power tools, following assembly instructions)
  • Read and interpret work instructions, routings, and basic drawings
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Identify and report safety, quality, or equipment concerns to supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 6S standards
  • Follow all Regal Rexnord safety, quality, and environmental policies
  • Support crosstraining and assist in other production areas as business needs require

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
  • Ability to safely operate press equipment or willingness to be trained
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read measurements and use basic measuring devices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to established job requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous press operation experience
  • Previous mechanical or assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a highmix production environment
