Provides supervision and direction to personnel performing maintenance and repairs to mechanical/electrical station equipment.
- A. Provides guidance to the process of building a work schedule as it relates to their assigned systems and available resources (during Inage and Outage periods).
- B. Provides assistance to the planning process when work tasks are identified for their assigned team.
- C. Works with various other associated departments to make task completion and schedule success a reality.
- D. Assigns work to qualified nuclear maintenance personnel in accordance with applicable training directives and guidelines.
- E. Monitors and assesses work progression as necessary to assure good work quality and personnel safety are maintained.
- F. Works with Technical Support and Engineering staff to solve various problems that are beyond the scope of the maintenance team.
- G. Reviews all work for compliance with station directives and guidelines to ensure QA, Post Maintenance Testing, Mod and procedural requirements have been met prior to returning equipment to service.
- H. Conducts weekly tam meetings to discuss current safety topics and work/team-related items of importance.
- I. Provides feedback to OPS, Work Control and Maintenance Coordinators to keep them informed on work progression and completion times.
- J. Maintains accurate payroll accounts to include compliance with NSD 200 Work Hour Extension.
Maintains a safe, productive and motivated well-trained maintenance staff through performance management and employee development and training.
- A. Establishes and communicates performance standards for assigned maintenance team.
- B. Conducts annual APA interviews to include periodic feedback sessions to communicate employee progress.
- C. Counsels employees on substandard performance including implementing and conducting performance improvement plans when necessary.
- D. Provides opportunities for on the job training when work schedule permits.
- E. Evaluates team needs and recommends formal training in areas where a deficiency exists.
- F. Keeps management informed on manpower needs and excesses.
- G. Observes formal training to assess the quality of trainer/trainee participation and provides written feedback.

Required/Basic Qualifications
- High School/GED degree
- 4 years related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated acceptable performance using computer applications, e.g., WMS, Word, Lotus Notes, EQSS, Nuclear University
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to support corporate and station policies
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple and complex tasks
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle conflict and motivate subordinates/team members
- Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork
- Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy to both internal and external customers
- Demonstrated promoter of personnel safety
Working Conditions
- Potential radiation from units.
- Extreme heat from equipment (160); cold (15).
- Cramped and confined spaces result in a need for respirators, or other physical problems.
- Lifting of heavy equipment.
- High pressures from steam and water
- On call 24 hours a day.
