JOB OVERVIEW: The Procurement & Sourcing Specialist supports the execution of Blue Diamond Growers' procurement strategy by managing purchase order execution, supplier coordination, master data integrity, and operational sourcing support.
This role partners closely with the Director of Procurement and procurement team to ensure supply continuity, data accuracy, and timely execution across direct and indirect spend categories. The Specialist plays a critical role in supporting supplier performance, procurement processes, and operational purchasing activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Procurement Execution & Operational Support
- Execute purchase orders for assigned categories and ensure timely order placement.
- Support sourcing activities including RFQs, supplier comparisons, and cost analysis .
- Coordinate vendors' communication related to pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor order status and proactively resolve supply or delivery issues.
- Support procurement execution for new product introductions and operational initiatives .
- Assist Director and Buyers with negotiation preparation and sourcing documentation.
Supplier & Vendor Management Support
- Support supplier onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain supplier records, contracts, and vendor information.
- Support the Supplier Documentation Management Process by collecting all packaging.
- Track supplier performance metrics including delivery, pricing, and service levels.
- Assist with supplier issue resolution including quality, service, and delivery concerns.
- Coordinate vendor communications and follow-up actions.
Master Data & Systems Management
- Maintain vendor, material, and procurement master data in SAP and procurement systems.
- Create and maintain materials, pricing, and sourcing data.
- Ensure data accuracy for planning, MRP, and purchasing activities.
- Support procurement system discipline and process adherence.
- Assist with procurement reporting and spend tracking.
Planning & Replenishment Support
- Review MRP recommendations and execute purchasing actions.
- Support replenishment activities for assigned material categories.
- Partner with operations and planning teams to ensure supply continuity.
- Help identify potential shortages and expedite critical materials.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with IT and AP to promote simplification of processes (for governance purpose) and automation of transactions (SAP S4/Ariba).
- Support procurement requirements for plant operations and projects.
- Support cost savings tracking and procurement reporting.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Support procurement process improvements and standardization.
- Assist with documentation of procurement procedures and workflows.
- Help improve reporting, supplier tracking, and procurement visibility.
- Promote disciplined procurement execution and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing experience
- Experience working in manufacturing, CPG, agriculture, or operations preferred
- Experience supporting procurement execution or operational purchasing
Required Skills
- SAP or ERP purchasing experience preferred

- Data accuracy and attention to detail
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
