Manufacturing Engineer-Summer Intern

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts to achieve production goals
• Identify and implement cost-effective process improvements, including automation, tooling upgrades, and workflow optimizations
• Conduct time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and capacity planning to maximize efficiency and throughput
• Learn and apply Manufacturing methods, manage tooling and equipment needs with Lean Manufacturing mindset
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality engineers, and production managers, to ensure seamless integration of processes
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and achieve production targets
• Investigate and troubleshoot process failures, quality problems, and equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain production documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Required Skills:

• Pursuing a college degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related field
• Ability to learn and understand technical data and specifications
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to execute impromptu speeches/presentations in a captivating way
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills a must
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software packages
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude towards problem-solving
• This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus
• Experience with 3D printing

Compensation Information

Base Hourly Range: $ 20.00
