Engineering Intern
Ducommun's Huntsville Performance Center is seeking an
Engineering Intern to work full-time during the summer. The Engineering
intern will assist Project and Mechanical Engineers in fixture design, fixture
3D prints, specification review, work instruction creation/changes, and
production assembly support. Ideal intern will have completed college
courses in engineering, have a willingness to learn and apply skills to assist
engineers in daily tasks.

Job Summary
- Assist in Fixture Design
- Fixture 3D prints
- Specification reviews
- Creation/ Changes of work instructions, layouts, process flow, machine utilization.
- Electronic production Assembly support
- Teamwork with other engineers, managers, supervisors, and associates to
solve small and large assignments. - Develop work instructions for manufacturing and equipment operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Able to work effectively within a team environment and across functional groups.
- Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
- Multitask, good decision making, self-motivated, and problem solve.
- Must be computer literate, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of engineering principles required.
- Ability to read and understand load plans
- Ability to read and understand production drawings
- Basic component identification skills
- Ability to build electronic assemblies
Required Experience and Education
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled working toward a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Team oriented willingness
to learn.
