This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science center's working together with one of the nation's premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The Division of Allergy, Immunology, & Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an academic faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Allergy/Immunology with specific expertise in allergic diseases. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will be a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits. The individual must have the ability to advance medical knowledge and translate it into clinically relevant strategies for diagnosis and treatment of allergic and immunologic conditions. The individual will be joining an actively growing and expanding research and clinical operation covering a wide range of allergic and immunologic disorders and research programs. Responsibilities will include patient care, active participation in resident and fellowship education, and participation in clinical, translational, and basic research. The ideal candidate should be a physician-scientist able to develop niche clinical programs, perform laboratory-based research in a mentored setting, and compete for independent research funding toward the goal of becoming a Principal Investigator.
