Scope of Work Utilizes the knowledge and methodology of Radiation physics to ensure safe and quality delivery of Radiation Therapy procedures and to address and advise on any issues relating to these treatments. The medical physics assistant works under the supervision of the staff physicists on the application of ionizing radiation in treatment, treatment planning with external beam radiation along with high dose rate brachytherapy procedures. Responsible for tracking equipment calibration and radiation doses to staff to ensure proper radiation protection guides and procedures are followed in the treatment and care of radiation oncology patients.
