GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Configuration Manager is responsible for the accurate entry, organization, storage, and distribution of engineering data and documentation to support manufacturing and other cross-functional teams. This role ensures that drawings, Bills of Materials, and change notices are properly processed and maintained within enterprise systems. The position supports configuration management processes, promotes data integrity, and helps ensure timely access to critical information required for production, compliance, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Manage the printing, assembly, and distribution of work orders and engineering drawings to support production and operational needs.
  • Convert engineering drawing data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), into AS400, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for cross-functional teams.
  • Process and document Engineering Release Forms (ERFs), ensuring all revisions are accurately entered and maintained within Autodesk Vault and AS400 systems.
  • Collaborate with the Configuration Manager to ensure timely release of engineering documentation and files.
  • Prepare and submit Material Requisition Orders through AS400 as requested by internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and input metadata within Autodesk Vault to ensure accurate indexing and efficient document retrieval.
  • Provide support for basic Autodesk Vault functionality and assist in troubleshooting system errors in the absence of the Configuration Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including ISO 9001, EIA-649, and internal configuration management policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the procurement, organization, and distribution of engineering specifications as required.
  • Maintain and track the engineering departmentis PTO calendar using Microsoft Outlook.
  • Manage office supply inventory and place orders to support departmental operations.
  • Update and maintain multiple databases to support accurate job closing processes, including running, storing, and distributing required reports and completing job closures in AS400.
  • Review existing configuration, change, and release management processes; recommend and help implement improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with peers, supervisors, and cross-department teams.
  • Working knowledge of configuration and change management principles and best practices.
  • Ability to adhere to company-specific and Department of Defense (DoD) configuration management standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Minimum 40 wpm typing.
  • Desire to collaborate with others to drive tasks through to completion and achieve team objectives.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Technical Associate's degree with experience in IT operations or system administration required.
  • ITIL Foundation or CM2-BASE / CM2-CORE certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with military standards such as MIL-HDBK-61 and MIL-STD-31000.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with industry CM standards such as EAI-649, ISO 10007, and CMMI.
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems: Autodesk Vault preferred, with Teamcenter or similar systems a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience in AS400 system is preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Office environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, folding drawings, stuffing routings, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
