Position Title: Histotechnician Work Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877 Assignment Duration: 12 Months Work Schedule: 40 hours per week Work Arrangement: Onsite Note: Looking for at least 2 years FFPE tissue sectioning (experience with skin required), embedding tissues (also in TMAs), processing tissues. Position Summary: Tissue fixation, processing, and embedding of biological specimens. Sectioning tissues using microtomy techniques to prepare high-quality slides. Background & Context: Supporting ongoing research projects and collaborating with pathologists within our organization's laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities: Tissue fixation, processing, and embedding of biological specimens Sectioning tissues using microtomy techniques to prepare high-quality slides Performing routine, special staining, and IHC/IF procedures Whole slide scanning Maintenance of laboratory equipment Ensuring quality control and accurate documentation of laboratory procedures Collaborating with pathologists and research scientists to support ongoing projects Qualification & Experience: Microtomy skill Experience with FFPE tissue block sectioning Bachelors degree in histotechnology or a related field ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or eligibility to obtain certification Proficiency in microtomy, tissue processing, embedding, and staining techniques Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance Exceptional attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills Excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment
