Essential Job Duties
Daily lab operations, including laboratory management and wet branch research.

Laboratory Management:

  • Maintaining lab records, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Training students or new lab members on basic techniques and safety procedures
  • Assisting with lab organization and efficiency improvements


Wet Bench Research

  • Performing routine and specialized experiments (depending on the lab focus), such as:

    • Cell culture or microbial culturing
    • Protein assays, western blots, enzyme assays
    • Plant work (e.g., tissue culture, phenotyping, growth experiments)


  • Preparing samples and running assays according to protocols
  • Collecting, recording, and organizing experimental data
  • Assisting with experimental design or troubleshooting protocols
  • Maintaining detailed lab notebooks and data records
  • Supporting faculty, postdocs, or graduate students in research projects


Data & Reporting Support

  • Entering and organizing experimental data
  • Basic data analysis (Excel, software specific to the lab)
  • Preparing figures or summaries for lab meetings
