Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician operates, repairs and maintains hospital and associated buildings' physical plants and equipment in a safe, cost effective and industry accepted manner, assures a safe and reliable facility to provide services.

The primary responsibility for this position is supporting the Hudson Hospital & Clinic site, including on-call coverage. Additionally, this role will provide support at other HealthPartners St. Croix Valley locations as operational needs arise.

Essential Duties:

• Assists with maintenance department projects as needed.

• Participates in quality improvement activities of the department and hospital.

• Implements and monitors performance improvement standards.

• Performs preventive maintenance as required and in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.

• Performs preventive maintenance as required on assigned fire safety equipment and in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines.

• Obtains list of scheduled devices and documents maintenance in equipment management system.

• Performs electrical safety testing as required.

• Documents vendor service repair in equipment management system.

• Provides written information regarding the operation of the equipment.

• Follows manufacturer guidelines for troubleshooting and maintenance of devices.

• Responds for and completes customer requests in a timely manner.

• Provides basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, and paints building interior/exterior as needed.

• Operates grounds machinery & equipment for snow removal.

• Provide extermination duties (rodents, bats, ants) if needed.

• Back up Groundskeeper responsibilities as needed.

• Completes daily rounds in the am (inspection of major and auxiliary equipment) in absence of Maintenance Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two-year technical training in building maintenance.

• One year experience in the operation of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems in a healthcare setting.
