SUMMARY
The HL Quality Control Specialist II is responsible for performing a review of loan data as a result of loan servicing functions ensuring accuracy, adherence to established policies and procedures, and to ensure all internal and external compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements are met. This position supports the servicing of Consumer, Small Commercial, Commercial, and Specialty Lending for First Interstate Bank by meeting completeness, turn time, and accuracy requirements per established service level agreements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs reviews to ensure all applicable lending compliance regulations, such as REG Z, Fair Housing, ECOA, and applicable state laws, lending, and banking regulations are adhered to.

  • Performs file review to ensure Loan Operation Associates are performing tasks in an accurate and quality fashion, including a predetermined quantity performance level for all servicing activities performed by Loan Servicing such as loan boarding review, loan codes review, and loan monetary and non-monetary maintenance review.

  • Performs reviews to ensure all applicable Fair Credit Reporting compliance regulations are adhered to.

  • Performs Credit Bureau Dispute research and remediation steps.

  • Performs reviews of loans in Bankruptcy, charge off, repossession, and coding of loan data.

  • Assists internal First Interstate Bank Loan Servicing associates with the understanding of identified errors and resolution to prevent future occurrences.

  • Assists in compliance-related efforts in the Loan Servicing Center division, requiring a working knowledge of compliance regulations governing consumer lending.

  • Participates in internal and external training to maintain knowledge of Bank products; attends Loan Servicing departmental meetings and keep abreast of all credit policies, procedures, and system changes.

  • Recommends improvements and provides input to process improvements, policies, procedures, and technological changes and updates as needed to ensure an effective operating environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Compliance background with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to the Loan Servicing environment.

  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt and respond to all levels.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Understanding of loan policy and ability to interpret and provide guidance.

  • Loan product and process knowledge.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply lending laws and regulations related to the quality of loan servicing.

  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, document, and report.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking tendencies to address problems decisively and to propose long term, sustainable solutions.

  • Accepts shared ownership and accountability for results.

  • Advance understanding of loan policies and procedures and ability to interpret and provide guidance.

  • Understanding of loan account systems, loan payment types and processing and ability to research and resolve accounting errors.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 4-6 years experience in a financial institution within loan servicing required

  • Experience in premier and business analytics preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $25.93 to $38.39 per hour (in CO & WA) and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, this role is eligible to receive annual discretionary cash bonuses. Benefits available for this position include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
