JOB DESCRIPTION

Hybrid to any office location.

The Manager Business Quality & Improvement plays a pivotal role in driving quality outcomes and ensuring access to quality care within the organization. This position oversees the development and implementation of quality strategies, leads a team dedicated to evaluating and enhancing quality outcomes, and collaborates with stakeholders across the enterprise to drive continuous improvement initiatives rooted in quality. The Manager serves as a trusted partner, guiding the identification of opportunities for improvement and providing recommendations to enterprise stakeholders to support strategic objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and align quality strategies with strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality professionals in identifying and prioritizing functional quality maturity and transactional process improvement efforts based on business needs.
  • Establish team priorities and guide the identification of new improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and manage team to monitor, analyze, and report on quality data to identify trends, potential issues, and risks. Oversee the sharing of insights and learnings, and contribute to the sustainability of quality initiatives.
  • Oversee a team of quality professionals in engagements with enterprise stakeholders to implement quality improvement action plans.
  • Actively manage resources and activities across functional areas and recommend actions based on quality improvement work plans and key quality indicators.
  • In collaboration with enterprise cross-functional stakeholders, lead team to define Quality Program descriptions, work plans, and evaluations.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate quality risks on all programs through analyzing metrics and driving continuous improvement efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop key quality indicators and measurement strategies, including analyzing and interpreting technical measurement specifications, collaborating with clinical and business stakeholders and validating results.


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    • 8+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 1+ years supervisory/management
    • Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational leadership, engineering, quality, or similar field. Master's degree (either significantly in process or completed) in Quality or Business Administration preferred. Proven experience leading or answering Management Review and Quality Audit of programs, including 8+ years of a combination of working in ISO 9001, QMS or other Quality Systems environment
    • Proven knowledge of QMS development and implementation, as well as Document Control
    • Knowledge of business improvement philosophies and their respective tools - e.g., Kaizen, lean, Six Sigma
    • Ability to drive effective change and stakeholder management
    • Data-driven with strong analytical skills and a track record of identifying potential issues proactively and formulating solutions and contingency plans
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). Ability to represent ideas effectively and be highly credible presenting to and communicating with senior functional leader area personnel
    • Proven ability and effectiveness working in a matrixed environment
    • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to create and maintain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization

    Licenses

    * Certified Quality Auditor. Lead Auditor certified in ISO 9001:2015 preferred, previous ISO9001 certification Upon Hire Pref'

    * Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. Proven course work in Lean Six Sigma or Green Belt certification Upon Hire Pref'

    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 23. $106,400 - $230,600
