Position Type : Full timeType Of Hire : Experienced (relevant combo of work and education)Job Description FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer Seniors (API Kong Developer) in Jacksonville, FL to design and implement scalable API solutions using KONG Gateway. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand integration requirements. Develop custom plugins and middleware to extend KONG Gateway functionalities. Optimize API performance and security through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting. Implement API management best practices including versioning, documentation, and access control. Deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring OpenShift clusters and Kong gateways, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance. Administering OpenShift clusters, proficiency in Kong architecture, installation, configuration, and tuning, knowledge of Kafka internals and ecosystem tools, Linux systems and shell scripting, DevOps background, and familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization. Work with JavaScript/TypeScript, Docker/Docker Compose, functional testing, API testing, and CI/CD tools including Jenkins/Travis and GitHub Actions. Integrate APIs with various backend systems and databases. Ensure high availability and reliability of APIs by implementing robust failover and redundancy strategies. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in API management and integration. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation: designing and developing APIs using KONG Gateway; working with RESTful API design principles and best practices; utilizing programming languages including Python, Node.js, & Java; working with Docker containerization technologies and Kubernetes orchestration tools for building scalable gateway; implementing API security standards with OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS; and troubleshooting complex API issues and performance bottlenecks.
