Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer, Post-Trade Support with our client in their New York, NY location. This is a 12 month contract position.

Summary:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to work alongside the Post-Trade Support team at a leading global alternative asset management firm. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and trade operations: you will build and maintain the internal tooling, data pipelines, and automation that keep the post-trade support team running efficiently. Where the support team manages the queue, you manage the code behind it.

What You'll Do:
  • Write and maintain Python and Java utilities that automate repetitive support workflows, data lookups, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Build and optimize SQL queries against legacy relational databases to investigate trade data discrepancies and support root-cause analysis.
  • Develop lightweight internal tools (dashboards, scripts, data extractors) that give the support team faster visibility into trade and booking data.
  • Interface with the Everest OMS platform via available data layers and APIs to extract, transform, and surface relevant information.
  • Translate recurring support patterns into reusable automation, reducing manual triage volume over time.
  • Collaborate closely with Post-Trade Support Consultants to understand operational pain points and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Escalate system change requests and platform issues to the senior engineering team with well-documented technical context.
  • Apply working knowledge of capital markets instrument workflows (bonds, loans, equities) to ensure tooling accurately reflects trade lifecycle logic.
What You Bring:
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on engineering experience in Python and/or Java, with demonstrated ability to ship production-quality scripts and utilities.
  • Strong SQL proficiency: writing complex queries, joining across multiple schemas, and interpreting legacy relational data models.
  • Familiarity with post-trade concepts: trade booking, allocation, settlement, clearing and executing brokers, and broker account structures.
  • Experience working within legacy or vendor-managed platform environments where full system access is constrained.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements from non-technical stakeholders into clean, maintainable code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: you will document your work and collaborate daily with operations and support staff.
  • Comfort operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where requirements are not always fully defined upfront.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
Nice to Have:
  • Prior engineering experience supporting the Everest OMS or similar order/trade management platforms in an investment management or private equity environment.
  • Exposure to system migration or platform modernization projects.
  • Experience building tooling for middle- or back-office operations teams.
  • Familiarity with allocation-based or clearing workflow logic.
What This Role Is Not:
  • This is not a pure software engineering role focused on platform architecture or greenfield product development.
  • Must be comfortable spending meaningful time in close collaboration with operations staff, understanding manual workflows before automating them.
  • This role does not involve direct modification of the Everest OMS or its vendor-managed components
Pay rate range: $80 - $110 hourly.

If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
