Job Description

The audio engineer is responsible for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering sound for Gala 2025. The audio engineer works with different types of audio equipment, software, and formats, and applies technical and creative skills to produce high-quality audio content.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment and software for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering sound
  • Collaborate with clients, producers, directors, musicians, and other audio professionals to understand and meet their audio needs and expectations
  • Adjust sound levels, frequencies, dynamics, and effects to enhance the quality and clarity of audio content
  • Edit and synchronize audio tracks with video, images, or other media elements
  • Test and troubleshoot audio systems and devices to ensure optimal performance and functionality
  • Keep up to date with the latest audio technologies, trends, and best practices
  • Manage audio files and archives, and adhere to copyright and privacy laws

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an audio engineer or similar role in the audio industry
  • Proficiency in using various audio equipment and software, such as microphones, consoles, DAWs, plugins, and editors
  • Knowledge of audio principles, techniques, and standards, such as acoustics, sound design, and audio formats
  • Creative and technical skills to produce and manipulate sound for different media and genres
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in audio production

Sesame Workshop Hybrid Work Policy

This position is based at our headquarters office in New York (Manhattan) at 1900 Broadway, New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work model. In-office requirements vary by role and employee group, and currently range from two to five designated in-office days per week.
