Job Description




As a Custom Protection Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic food and beverage location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will support access awareness, observe activity, and contribute to a caring culture built on teamwork, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including production areas, warehouse spaces, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter access points.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access, and report suspicious behavior, damaged property, and/or policy concerns to help support daily operations.
  • Complete assigned reports and logs, document incidents and/or observations, and assist with traffic, visitor, and delivery coordination as needed at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
    • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
