starting pay: $21-$28/hr., based on experience!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The URMC Staff Lease Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing the Golisano Children's Hospital - NICU/PICU Staff Lease Program and the URMC Mobile Stroke Unit. The URMC Staff Lease Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Pediatric, Neonatal, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) Teams in managing transport and care for patients, the safe operation of vehicles, and possessing requisite familiarity with the unique features of such vehicles. The URMC Staff Lease Supervisor is responsible for knowing policies, procedures and billing that are associated with specific contracts (e.g.: University of Rochester Neonatal / Pediatric Intensive Care Units, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and the Mobile Stroke Unit).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • URMC Staff Lease Supervisor will be required to assist the Transport Team members, and a SCT Paramedic where applicable, with patient movement, equipment movement, troubleshooting problems as they arise, and if requested caring for the patient as directed
  • Required to interact with facility staff members to create and maintain professional relationships
  • Directs, monitors, communicates with and evaluates all field employees in his/her assigned area
  • Attend monthly meetings as required by the NICU / PICU / CICU / MSU Teams, in person or virtually and Bi-weekly Operations Meetings
  • Maintain records and investigate mechanical issues on the specialty units as a liaison to AMR Fleet
  • Process and maintain billing records in accordance with URMC and GCH Contracts
  • Track City and Country responses to 28-cards to ensure appropriate dispatching
  • Coordinate vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs for maintenance appointments performed by outside vendors
  • Coordinate "stand-bys" and "show and tells" for the specialty units.
  • Investigate and report personnel issues between AMR and URMC/GCH Staff
  • Investigate and report URMC Staff Lease EMT's on duty injuries, MVC's and Liability claims
  • Assist in filling the schedule with appropriately credentialed employees when holes are identified
  • Coordinate on-boarding and training of additional URMC Staff Lease EMT's for NICU, PICU, CICU, and the MSU
  • Liaison for any clinical issues to the CES office utilizing the appropriate protections.
  • Ensures PCRs and other field paperwork is reconciled daily in conjunction with the PCR processing
  • Provides staff counseling and guidance and information regarding AMR Operations
  • Promptly investigates incidents involving assigned units of personnel, including filling of internal and external reports and counseling staff.
  • Ensures maintenance of adequate levels of staffing, equipment and medical supplies for field units
  • Performs other related duties as required
  • Prepares reports and manages projects as assigned by Operations Manager or Director of Operations
  • Maintains availability during disaster situations or mass casualty incidents and assists in any capacity needed
  • Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies
  • Responsible for supervising, directing and developing direct reports, including completing performance reviews, counseling sessions, etc.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Adheres to and complies with information systems security
  • Mentors employees, conducts performance evaluations, counsels and provides disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results
  • Champions affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Systems Skills - A working knowledge of MS Office. Uses data from different sources to identify issues and quickly identifies the central or underlying issues in a complex situation
  • Ability to use data form different sources to identify issues with billing, customer complaints, and call tracking
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must hold a Valid NYS EMT-B Certification
  • Current CPR, PHLTS and ACLS certification, or equivalent credentials preferred.
  • Some advanced education preferred

Experience:

  • Three years EMS experience preferred
  • Experience in leadership/ supervision preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to function as a field EMT performing direct BLS or ALS patient care activities
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and have a driving record in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability.
  • Thorough knowledge of system status management
  • Effective oral and written and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
  • Aptitudes required for work of this nature are good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times
  • Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects
  • Must be willing to work the specific shifts / hours required for Specialty Vehicle operation
