Qualifications EDUCATION AS degree from an accredited college or university with successful completion of an accredited American Dietetic Association dietetic technician program required. EXPERIENCE A minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years practical experience as a dietetic technician required. Practical experience in an acute care facility preferred., Registered dietetic technicianCommission on Dietetic Registration SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Must have a demonstrated ability to review medical records and use the information to implement a nutrition plan of care. Must be able to disseminate nutritional information to other health professionals, as well as translate into laymen's terms for purposes of patient education. Must be able to work well both independently and in collaboration with the registered dietitian to prioritize patient care. Must be able to interact well with all members of the health care team. Must have working knowledge of evidenced-based principles of medical nutrition therapy and the Nutrition Care Process. Must be able to use common computer software systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, order-entry programs and electronic medical records. Experience w/ nutrient analysis programs and the internet preferred. PHYSICAL DEMAND must be able to sit and stand for significant lengths of time in completion of work tasks.
