Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting new product introduction and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective production. This role focuses on process improvement, equipment validation, and production support while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product flow and manufacturability. The Manufacturing Engineer applies technical expertise to develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, safety, and operational excellence. Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate new product manufacturability and support product launch into production
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and product flow
- Validate equipment and processes in accordance with established protocols
- Develop capacity plans and support facility layout changes for equipment moves and additions
- Coordinate and deliver operator training for processes, products, and equipment
- Collaborate with external resources, including vendors and partner sites, to resolve technical issues and improve processes
- Assess process capabilities and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Design, develop, and implement process improvements, tooling, and automation solutions
- Partner with engineering teams on production technology improvement initiatives
- Conduct time studies to establish and verify process specifications
- Support operations and new product development teams with technical expertise
- Execute cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide production line support, including troubleshooting equipment, addressing process issues, and implementing process improvements
- Develop and manage kanban systems and support capacity planning activities
- Write and execute process and equipment validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Review engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and manufacturability
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related science discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Applied experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and tools
- Strong technical writing skills, including experience with protocols, reports, and validation documentation
- Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Experience with equipment design and build is preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, is preferred
