WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

FULL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining standard jobs, including serial number specific standard jobs complete with Repair Bill of Materials (RBOMs) and repair definitions. This role will also serve as a centralized resource for the Service Department and Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSR's) for quoting and estimating repair work. Working closely with the Customer Service Representative, Team Supervisors, Field Dispatchers and PSSR's, this role will ensure that timely, accurate quotes are provided to customers as outlined within customer care standards.

Researches and accurately creates standard jobs (including prototypes), RBOM's and repair definitions for preventative maintenance, components, and machine rebuilds with appropriate serial number and arrangement number splits. Utilizes Cat Time Requirement Guide (TRG), Cat Equipment Repair Labor Guidelines (ERLG), history searches, review of other dealer/Cat standards



  • Creates accurate quotations and estimates of work when standard jobs do not exist as requested by the Customer Service Representatives, Team Supervisors, Field Dispatchers and PSSR's. Quotes are expected to be returned to requester within 8 business hours, depending on the scope of work in the request.
  • Researches and resolves issues with existing standard job labor allowances and/or RBOM's.
  • Assists with standard job training as needed.
  • Assists in development of standard jobs best practices and procedures to assist in the ease of building and implementing standard jobs.
  • Promotes and markets standard jobs and RBOMs advantages within the company.
  • Keeps current on update and changes to the standard job software and programs.
  • May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to learn and use new software.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft computer products and other comparable systems.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Consistent attendance.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Five years experience as a heavy equipment service technician with increasing levels of responsibility and knowledge.
  • Knowledge and understanding of service software and applications preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
