The Network Administrator will be responsible for the setup, configuration, and support the internal and/or external LAN/WAN/MAN/CAN network configurations. Troubleshoots network performance issues internally or externally with the Vendors/Carriers. Maintains the ISD departments BCP and DR plans for network operations. Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications/equipment. Provides technical support / guidance to end users. Responsibilites, include but not limited to: Configure and install various network devices and services (i.e., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QOS, load balancers, SNMP, IPAM, etc.). Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability uptime is up to 100%. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Provide level 1 (phone support) and level 2 (Deskside support) and troubleshooting issues with carriers, vendors, and end users. Work with established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the networks infrastructure. Document Network operating procedures and Data Communications equipment configurations. Maintain inventory of Data Communications equipment. Report service disruptions to Telco and works with Telco to restore service. Interface with Data Communications Equipment providers to properly configure the equipment and correct equipment malfunctions. Provide input to the design, development, and implementation of operational activities relating to networks. Maintain day-to-day logs of service disruptions.
