Registered Nurse - Adult OR

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the Nurse Manager for overall work performance.

Required qualifications:

• Two years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
• Experience in General Surgery, Ortho, Neuro, OHNS, GU, GYN, Breast/Plastics, Endoscopy, and Surgical Oncology
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Proficiency in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery

• Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating surgical procedures

• Excellent verbal and written skills; must be well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently and under pressure
• Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge
• This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred qualifications:

• Specialty Certification - CNOR
• BSN

License/Certification:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification
