PURPOSE: Assist with coordination and support landlord construction projects across their full lifecycle-from design and permitting through construction and close-out-ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and operational standards at Mall of America.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Coordinate, support and oversee construction projects at Mall of America
  • Support tenant coordination activities, including tenant tours, architectural plan reviews, and engineering assessments
  • Verify field conditions and review contractor scope to ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Promote and support adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of safety on-site
  • Maintain Owner/ Contractor/ Sub-Contractor relationships and effective delegation.
  • Act as a liaison between tenants, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders
  • Support project execution to ensure timelines and objectives are met
  • Document, track, and communicate project updates, issues, and resolutions
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with all stakeholders
  • Support all phases of landlord construction, including design development, bidding, permitting, approvals, and project close-out
  • Assist with cost tracking, lease coordination, construction allowances, and chargeback processes
  • Research and coordinate site infrastructure requirements (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural systems)
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with plans and specifications
  • Prepare project status reports and support punch list completion
  • Process invoices and maintain accurate project tracking and documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction coordination, project support, or related environment
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, trades, and project workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of building systems, including mechanical and electrical systems within large commercial properties
  • Familiarity with construction cost processes, including invoicing and payment approvals
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, permitting, and life safety requirements
  • Ability to support subcontractor and vendor coordination
  • Experience assisting with bid package preparation and evaluation
  • Ability to track project progress and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with construction/project management software, preferred
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • Clear and professional communication (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail and accountability
