Application Window Open date: April 20, 2026 Next review date: Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Oct 20, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is seeking a physician-scientist faculty member to contribute to our growing program in Transfusion Medicine as well as the UCSF School of Medicine's tripartite mission of fostering excellence in research, education, and patient care. The selected candidate will be appointed at the Assistant Professor level in the "Clinical X" faculty series at UCSF. An MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent degree) is required for this position. An active medical license in the state of California is required. Prior residency training in Clinical Pathology and fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine are both required. The candidate will be expected to perform clinical duties in Transfusion Medicine within the Department of Laboratory Medicine while also establishing a laboratory-based research program. Prior high impact publications in the fields of transfusion medicine, cellular therapy, and/or cellular immunology are required. A track record of obtaining extramural funding is required.
