Job Title

Business Resiliency Lead


Job Summary

The position will collaborate with department directors/managers across Noridian and the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions. In addition, this position will develop and implement solutions for the enterprise regarding restoration of business processes in case of an event while working closely with leadership regarding the financial impact these solutions have on the organization. Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy is required. An understanding of business interruptions and the knowledge of adequate workaround procedures is imperative for the success of this position. Similarly, the ability to use discernment on assessing potential risks and responses to the organization is of high importance.


Essential Functions
(Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities)

  • Establishes and Maintains Resiliency Program Strategy and Governance (accountability, transparency, prioritization, allocation) for the management of business resiliency activities. Develops and implements enterprise business recovery plan and procedures, including playbooks for executives and Board of Directors.
  • Coaches and develops staff. Encourages growth while ensuring staff are meeting expectations.
  • Conduct Risk Assessment for departments/functions, analyzing potential business impact of business interruptions such as natural disasters, cybersecurity incidents, legal claims, public relations, and market, vendor, or supply chain disruptions. Reviews departmental plans to identify trends across departments that may require enterprise solutions and brings recommendations to Senior Leadership Team for approval to implement.
  • Analyzes the business impact of interruptions and maintain a deep understanding of critical processes. Brings together the business and IT to define agreed upon recovery time and recovery point objectives. Collaborate with IT or vendors Disaster Recovery coordinators to ensure system recovery timelines are documented, tested, and validated. Analyzes new third parties to ensure vendor recovery timelines align with business expectations.
  • Creates and Facilitates Resiliency Testing. Creates scenarios, facilitates testing exercises at the departmental and enterprise level, documents lessons learned and modifies existing plans for improvement. Ensures all required documentation across testing is completed timely and available.
  • Identifies and implements recovery plans to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity. Will collaborate with business leaders to ensure the departmental plans can operate in this model.
  • Advocate for Business Resiliency throughout the organization by building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, vendors, and customers. Apply an understanding of stakeholders' expectations including customer requirements, best practices and regulations to optimize Noridian's business resiliency program.
  • Develops and provides staff training on all business resiliency components as appropriate. Provides executive team and Board of Directors with necessary information and training to be prepared for a business interruption.
  • Champion the Use of Resiliency Management Software. Develop deep understanding of tools capabilities and promote the use of the tools throughout the organization. Configure tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance, Management Information Systems or other related fields OR equivalent combination of education and work experience as determined by Human Resources
  • Three years professional experience in a complex, cross-departmental environment.
  • Thorough understanding of risk identification and management including business impact analysis
  • Experience with business continuity planning and management, disaster recovery, and/or crisis management response.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strategic thinking, including anticipating change, future needs, or risk and identify solutions.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes
  • Ability to review customer requirements/contracts and identify Noridian's responsibilities


Preferred Qualifications

  • Two additional years Business Resiliency or Risk Management experience
  • Knowledge of data analysis and correlation
  • Knowledge of business process mapping
  • Knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery

Below is the salary range for potential new hires.

Salary Range: The pay range for this position is $79,267.71 - $130,374.83/year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
