The Oncology Physician Practice Coordinator (OPPC) is an integral member of the Smilow Care Center Delivery Team. The OPPC is partnered with a physician to ensure the established plan for each patient is executed in the recommended time frame and meets the individualized needs of the patient and family. The OPPC serves as the point of contract for daily operation isues inside the clinic and patient issues in the outside care settings. The OPPC triages and communicates issues with the physician throughout the day while minimizing disruptions and delays to the clinic workflow. Collaborates with intake team to schedule new patients and once plan has been established, take over as the consistent contact for the provider. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities
Qualifications EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited nursing school required. BSN preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 years Oncology experience required. 2-3 years Outpatient Ambulatory experience required. Minimum 3years medical surgical experience preferred. LICENSURE Active CT RN license and OCN certification required within a year of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required. Knowledge of adult learning competencies and patient teaching skills. Ability to work autonomously and maintain flexibility. YNHHS Requisition ID 180152 | |
