Role Overview

The AWM Private Climate Strategy platform plays a critical role in addressing climate regulations and enabling value creation across investment strategies. Operating across Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Growth, the platform provides strategic direction, tools, and advisory support to investment teams and portfolio companies.

As part of the Sustainability & Impact team, this role supports climate risk, regulatory compliance, reporting, and value creation initiatives. The Associate will partner closely with the Head of Climate Strategy and act as an internal subject matter expert across the division.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of climate strategy frameworks aligned with energy transition and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a first-line risk manager ensuring compliance with evolving climate regulations and internal standards
  • Partner with deal teams and portfolio companies on value creation initiatives (decarbonization, resilience, product strategy)


Program Execution & Analytics



  • Lead rollout of transition & physical climate risk analytics
  • Improve analytics tools, educational materials, and integration into deal lifecycle
  • Support climate-related diligence (risk + opportunity assessment)


Reporting & Regulatory



  • Manage GHG emissions and climate risk reporting at fund and portfolio levels
  • Monitor global climate regulations and align reporting practices
  • Ensure reporting meets regulatory and stakeholder expectations


Frameworks & Tools



  • Advance value creation frameworks and toolkits
  • Drive process documentation and roadmap development
  • Support enhancements to analytics and reporting capabilities


Stakeholder Management



  • Develop executive-level presentations and communication materials
  • Partner with internal teams, portfolio companies, and external vendors
  • Act as a climate SME and advisor across deal teams and stakeholders


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years total experience; 2-3 years in Financial Services or investing-related roles
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills (Excel proficiency required)
  • Experience translating analytics into business insights and documentation
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in climate strategy, risk, reporting, or program management
  • Knowledge of:

    • Climate scenario analysis
    • GHG accounting
    • Decarbonization and resilience strategies
    • Climate reporting frameworks and target setting


  • Background in engineering, energy, or sustainability-related fields
  • Experience working with portfolio companies or investment teams
