Job Summary

Grady Health System is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to support diagnostic imaging services by performing advanced magnetic resonance imaging procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role is ideal for experienced imaging professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting flexible departmental coverage needs.

The MRI Technologist performs complex MRI procedures in accordance with established imaging protocols and safety standards, producing high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate clinical interpretation. In collaboration with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams, the technologist ensures imaging services are delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

In this role, the MRI Technologist provides imaging services to a diverse patient population across multiple age groups and clinical conditions. The technologist must demonstrate strong technical expertise, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt imaging protocols to meet varying patient and physician needs. As a PRN team member, this position provides flexible coverage based on departmental demand, including peak volumes, staffing needs, and specialized scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures in accordance with established imaging protocols and radiologist direction

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images across multiple anatomical planes

  • Provide imaging services for a diverse patient population across multiple age groups

  • Ensure strict adherence to MRI safety standards and regulatory guidelines

  • Monitor and support patient safety, comfort, and care throughout imaging procedures

  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support diagnostic accuracy and coordinated care

  • Maintain MRI equipment functionality and comply with departmental quality and safety standards

  • Support efficient patient flow and departmental operations

Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association (AMA)

  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist

  • Demonstrated knowledge of scientific principles and technical applications related to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
