About Reingold

Reingold is a full-service marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA. For more than 40 years, we've been driven by a simple mission: to help organizations - whether in the government, nonprofit, or business sector - as they strive to make the world a better place. We hire top-notch talent to develop and launch compelling, inventive communications campaigns, leveraging the latest technology and digital media strategies that enable our clients to meet their audiences where they are.

We're proud to say we've built a team of curious, passionate pros - from marketers and tech wizards to designers and strategists - who love what they do and bring their A-game every day. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We believe great ideas come from collaboration, humor, and a little bit of fun along the way.

When you work at Reingold, you get more than a job, you get a community. We offer competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a dynamic hybrid work environment, a vibrant workplace and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means when we find great people (and they find us), they stick around for the long term.

That's where you come in. We're looking for a temporary, part time UI Design Director. This is a senior leadership role within Reingold's Digital Experience department. This individual will lead the UI workstream across multiple projects, guiding teams to deliver exceptional, intuitive, user-centered design solutions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who brings deep expertise in interactive design and UI design systems, a passion for mentorship, and a forward-looking perspective on emerging tools and technologies.

Here's the work you'll do:

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the UI workstream of projects from concept through delivery, interpreting requirements and directing designers in developing high-quality, on-brand design solutions.
  • Provide feedback and guidance on UI work products and project deliverables.
  • Demonstrate mastery of user-centered design practices and industry-standard tools, with deep proficiency in Figma.
  • Apply fluency in responsive and mobile design principles and scalable design systems to ensure consistency and excellence across all deliverables.
  • Anticipate and solve complex project issues, proactively identifying risks and driving solutions that keep work on track and on strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, UX designers, content strategists, and digital project managers to align on creative strategies, technical feasibility, and deliverable expectations.
  • Partner with teams outside the Digital Experience department to ensure cohesive, integrated approaches to client work.
  • Develop and champion best practices and thought leadership around new tools and technologies within the UI discipline.
  • Provide input and guidance on how the UI team incorporates AI technology into the interactive design and development workflow, evaluating emerging tools, establishing guidelines, and driving adoption.
  • Stay current with industry trends, evolving design standards, and technological advancements to keep Reingold at the forefront of digital experience design.
  • Consult on business development solutions, contributing design thinking and strategic insight to proposals and pitches.
  • Contribute to budget estimates for project scoping, ensuring accurate representation of UI effort and resources.
