Position Summary
The Program Assistant supports the implementation of the North Carolina Psychiatry Access Line (NC- PAL) programs within the UNC Hub by providing entry-level support across research, data, and program operations. The role contributes to program evaluation efforts through data collection, management, monitoring, and reporting, and plays an active role in supporting quality improvement initiatives and stakeholder communication. The individual will help develop training, outreach, and academic materials, while also supporting day-to-day program needs such as inventory management, funder documentation requirements, and coordination of outreach and recruitment activities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal teams at UNC and collaborate with external partners, including Duke University and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services ( NCDHHS).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences

  • Demonstrated knowledge in psychology, social work, public health, other social sciences, healthcare, or related field.
  • Familiarity with data management or data entry in systems such as Excel, REDCap, or similar databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with developing written materials for diverse audiences (e.g., reports, presentations, training or outreach materials).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Experience communicating professionally (written and verbal) and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and/or engaging with external partners or stakeholders.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, with or without accommodation. Occasional lifting of light materials (up to 15 pounds) with or without accommodation may be required. Occasional local travel may be needed to support meetings, trainings, or events.
