***This position requires an active NACI clearance.*** The Lab Tech III - Lab Management plays a critical role in supporting the safety, quality, and efficiency of laboratory operations within a fast-paced scientific environment. This position provides day-to-day operational support, including inventory management, ordering and receiving, equipment coordination, and workflow support across laboratory functions. The role also supports quality and safety practices by maintaining compliance with established procedures, ISO standards, and laboratory protocols. Responsibilities include tracking inventory, coordinating equipment maintenance, supporting routine laboratory activities, and ensuring operational continuity across assigned lab areas. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, team-oriented laboratory setting. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Lab Tech III Lab Management: $65,000- $75,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Lab Tech III Lab Management Responsibilities Include:
- Document management support, including creating training tasks to ensure annual document review
- Laboratory maintenance, including flushing eyewashes weekly, generating waste labels, and removal of chemical and biohazardous waste from the lab
- Maintenance of records and creation of documentation for Quality compliance and ISO accreditation
- Performs routine safety walkthroughs to ensure compliance
- Works with laboratory staff to prepare for biannual safety audits, works with leadership to delegate tasks to laboratory staff to rectify deficiencies
- Ensure required documentation is kept up to date (Chemical hygiene plan, comprehensive and biological risk assessments, Exposure control plan, SDS sheets, etc.).
- Reviews laboratory records for compliance with labeling requirements (i.e., centrifuge logs, etc.)
- Submit orders for chemicals and supplies for purchase by credit card holders
- Serve as laboratory inventory system administrator: create records for new items, monitor items for expiration through the dashboard, periodically count inventory to ensure accuracy, and provide feedback to developers
- Receiving ordered items, storing them appropriately, uploading COAs and packing slips into the system
- Maintain instrument preventative maintenance and repair logs
- Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with instrument and equipment vendors
- Ensure the laboratory inventory system reflects current inventory through periodic cycle counts
- Analyze specimens, interpret and record testing results, and report findings
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Lab Tech III Lab Management Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's Degree or 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in CLIA, ISO, GLP, or cGMP environments.
- Previous experience supporting CDC or equivalent federal agency preferred.
- Advanced technical knowledge in health, science, biomedical, and clinical disciplines.
- Skill in performing detailed information search, correlation, interpretation of technical data, and the preparation of technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to support a variety of tasks, including performing sampling; testing, or operating equipment or systems; performing quality assurance reviews; participating in equipment or system installation and troubleshooting activities
- Experience in preparing sampling, quality assurance, and installation reports
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of all laboratory safety and reporting requirements
- Competency to perform non-routine and complex assignments
- Experience guiding more junior team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail.
- Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

- Experience supporting laboratory operations, including equipment coordination, inventory, purchasing, and safety practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with minimal hand-holding
- Ability to identify process gaps and support operational improvements
- Familiarity with laboratory policies, procedures, and compliance expectations
- Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
