Remote Sensing Analyst Job Function Summary

Provides enterprise remote sensing expertise through the acquisition, processing, interpretation, and transformation of remotely sensed data from aerial, satellite and UAS platforms into enterprise geospatial intelligence that supports operational, regulatory, and strategic decisionmaking.

Key Responsibilities

Data Acquisition and ProcessingPlans and executes remote sensing data acquisition efforts. Selects appropriate platforms, sensors, and collection methods based on business needs. Processes and validates imagery to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

Data and Image InterpretationAnalyzes multisource imagery and sensor data. Recommends interpretation methodologies and ensures outputs align with operational objectives.

ProcessesDevelops and maintains department standards. Identifies and implements process improvements. Develops and administers remote sensing data governance programs. Researches and resolves production issues.

Drones & Acquisition Hardware/SoftwareEvaluates emerging technologies and recommends enhancements to improve data quality and efficiency. Ensures compliance with FAA and safety standards where applicable.

Compliance & Data ManagementEnsures adherence to data governance standards. Implements quality control processes and resolves data integrity issues.

Consultation & Business PartnershipConsults with stakeholders to assess data requirements and recommend appropriate remote sensing solutions. Prioritizes work to meet operational demands.

Education

Requires a bachelor's degree in geography, geomatics, computer science, engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Typically two or more years in related field.
