The Operations Coordinator, under general supervision, will perform a variety of functions from data entry in all lines of business to assist supervisors, operations managers, and dispatchers in their daily responsibilities. This position uses problem solving skills on a daily basis to resolve route and customer issues.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Perform data entry in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Communicate and coordinate with sales and operations departments on missed stops, and other customer-related issues
  • Professionally interact with internal and external customers
  • Analyze and edit commercial and/or residential routes using routing software
  • Review daily driver paperwork for residential and/or commercial routes
  • Monitor, correct, and edit route sheet information as needed
  • Troubleshoot missed customers and attempt resolution by communicating with Route Managers, Route Supervisors, and dispatchers
  • Act as liaison between sales, operations, and customer service to help resolve routing and service issues
  • Review the daily activities and productivity of route drivers
  • Perform online data entry for residential and/or commercial accounts
  • Assist supervisors to keep maps up to date and accurate
  • Create, process, and track purchase orders for various LOBs
  • Communicate with accounts payable to receive invoices in a timely manner
  • Use dispatch software, GPS systems, and communication tools to manager driver activities as needed
  • Create, process, and track maintenance purchase orders as needed
  • Order and track all supplies (safety gear, forms, etc) as needed
  • Dispatch, route and complete container data entry as needed
  • Back up the scale operator, office supervisor, and inventory specialist as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Must possess excellent customer service and data entry skills
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team
  • Able to meet deadlines and complete assignments within stated time frames
  • Be able to present and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • Previous experience in Administrative Assistance, or similar experience is preferred
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications; AS400 experience, a plus
  • General knowledge of office functions
  • Waste industry experience, a plus



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs
  • Rarely lifting/carrying a max of 35 lbs
  • Rarely pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
  • Continuously working in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
  • Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Occasionally climbing and/or balancing
  • Frequently sitting/standing/walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
