Overview

LMI is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Materiel Readiness (DASW, MR) office. This position plays a critical role in translating leadership intent into actionable data insights, analytical deliverables, and decision-support dashboards. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor who can anticipate information needs, synthesize complex datasets, and build intuitive tools that enable senior leadership to make data-driven decisions efficiently.

Responsibilities

    Data Analysis & Engineering:
    Source, integrate, and analyze data from multiple DoD systems and enterprise platforms to develop insights supporting acquisition and sustainment decisions.
    Apply advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and automation to derive meaningful conclusions from large datasets. Possess the ability to work with and manipulate common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON.
  • Dashboard Development:
    Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and other DoD-authorized systems.
    Ensure dashboards are intuitive, accurate, and tailored to executive-level decision-making.
  • Process Optimization & Automation:
    Implement data-driven workflows and automated pipelines to support rapid analysis and reduce manual reporting burdens.
    Utilize technologies like Advana, Python and SQL, enable scalable and repeatable analytics solutions.
  • Tasker & Workflow Management:
    Provide analytical support to review, advise, synchronize and maintain sustainment data streams into OSW data metrics system (i.e., Advana). Provide real-time situational awareness to leadership through accurate and responsive reporting mechanisms.
  • Collaboration & Advisory:
    Analyze data products and provide comments/recommendations on strengths and weaknesses to deliver required results.
    Partner with front office, IT, and analytic teams to ensure data integrity, alignment with mission goals, and compliance with federal data standards.
    • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership, capable of independently identifying opportunities for analytic improvements.


Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards that communicate your findings and relate them back to how your insights create business impact using platforms such as data analytics and data visual tools (including but not limited to QLIK and Tableau).
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in the field is required
  • Experience working with tools including object-oriented programming (Python, Java, React), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries (scikit-learn).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex discussions into actionable data products.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment with senior government leaders.

Desired:

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, engineering, and dashboarding within the DoD or federal sector.
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, metadata management, and machine learning applications. Working knowledge of databases and SQL is desired.
  • Knowledge of general programming concepts like objects and classes. Knowledge of Foundry and Foundry based applications.
  • Being able to leverage AI and create agents as needed.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies and digital transformation initiatives within government contexts.
  • Additional preferred qualifications include working with unstructured text and natural language processing.
  • Demonstrated success supporting front office or senior executive decision-making environments.

Target Salary Range: $100,209.58 - $140,317.81
