Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $134,100.00 - $223,500.00 for a position based in IL and $124,200 - $207,000 for a virtual role.This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 15 % based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

As a Lead Software Engineer (Software Engineer IV) you will develop applications that align with a strategic vision for product data management and MDM platform engineering. In addition to coaching engineers, you will partner with key stakeholders including Product Managers and Architecture. You will embrace curiosity to ensure a deep understanding of the business requirements that drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions.

You will report to Manager, Product Engineering. The work location is either downtown Chicago or Lake Forest IL on a hybrid basis, 2 days a week in the office, with the ability to work from home. We will consider highly qualified applicants who are remote, provided they can do an onsite onboarding and travel occasionally for team meetings.

You Will:

  • Serve as Lead Engineer on a team responsible for the application and delivery of high-quality, maintainable software for highly complex MDM and data transformation applications
  • Influence team adoption of sensible defaults to enable continuous delivery activities
  • Contribute to continuous learning on your team culture by leading knowledge sharing sessions with latest technological features, MDM practices, and engineering practices
  • Maintain software in production with demonstrated ability to triage and resolve issues with minimal disruption to development workflows
  • Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and participate in pair programming
  • Partner directly with IT Management team to ensure successful design and delivery of technology-based solutions
  • Collaborate with data engineers to design and optimize data pipelines and transformation logic that feed downstream merchandising and commerce systems
  • Represent the SDT team in discussions with operational and business partners, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business needs
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide training to new team members on MDM platform functionalities and data transformation patterns
  • Analyze and streamline existing data transformation logic to improve system efficiency, resilience, and scalability
  • Contribute to the evolution of the SDT team from a system operator to a modern data platform team, delivering clean, reliable, and real-time product information to every downstream consumer

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or similar; or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer; with experience in modern software engineering; designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable software applications within a variety of technologies and environments required
  • Proficiency in Oracle and/or SQL and data manipulation techniques
  • Expert knowledge of programming skills and demonstrated knowledge of distributed system design and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps Practices
  • Experience with analyzing, interpreting, and communicating complex problems and practices
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices in data management
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes to unify data from various sources and ensure high data quality
  • Experience collaborating in a team with mixed skill sets - including data engineers, MDM specialists, and business stakeholders
  • Ability to suggest and drive design changes based on system architecture and evolving business requirements

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Stibo STEP, Informatica MDM, Reltio, Semarchy, or similar)
  • Experience with cloud migration of MDM or data platforms
