The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and performing repairs in all facets for KT Pacer feed transportation equipment and alike using basic hand tools, electronic, and pneumatic tooling.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled repairs ranging from minor to complete rebuilding of hydraulic and electrical systems (12/24 volt DC current).
- Troubleshoots breakdowns of components for feed transportation equipment to determine necessary repairs.
- Executes preventative and corrective mechanical service on feed transportation equipment
- Analyzes work orders to determine and collect necessary materials associated with the specific service job
- Performs processes for various types of weld preparation, fabrication, and welding.
- Ability to weld on a flat, curved, or vertical surface.
- Conducts appropriate testing to confirm feed transportation equipment is functioning to a level that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, records, etc.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Performs interior & exterior unit repairs and finishes as deemed necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Prior experience in repair, service, electrical, hydraulic, welding, or other relevant field is required
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (high mechanical aptitude)
- Must be able to read blueprints, work orders, equipment manuals, and engineering drawings
- Able to lift up to 50lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, twist, climb and/or crawl
- Willing to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level, vibration, dust and fumes
- Comfortable working at various heights, on ladders, and other varying situations as necessary
- Work in full compliance with safety regulations
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary
- Must possess willingness to learn outside of existing areas of expertise
- Willing to work in a fast-paced setting, handle change, and have the creative energy to solve problems

- Ability to stand and move about on concrete 8-12 hours a day. Ability to see, walk, bend, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, carry, climb (including ladders), work overhead, push, and pull.
- Ability to do the heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) multiple times daily in a 10 to 12-hour shift.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
