Who You Are... As General Manager, you assume responsibility for operational and sales leadership, ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the Company through the proactive sales and delivery of projects, T&M spot work, and maintenance base renewals for top 5 customers. This Position... Some examples of the work you might do includes:
- Responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience, rooted in on-time delivery and superior quality execution.
- Advocates and reinforces the guiding principles, wellness program, and safety culture of the Company.
- Manager & Cross Functional Collaborator - This role creates an environment where the special projects team, service team, project management team, and sales team work closely together to ensure a seamless experience for building owners and prospective customers. S/he demonstrates the ability to inspire and motivate a team with tremendous positive energy.
- Customer Centric - You are focused on providing unparalleled customer service and building efficient and collaborative account teams for Top 5 Customers in collaboration with the VP of Sales and Branch Manager. They gather information on the customer's organization and decision making process to effectively support the development of a sales strategy for Top 5 Accounts. They enjoy being on-site with their teams, consistently meeting with customers. They have established escalation policies to ensure customer retention and satisfaction while maintaining profit objectives.
- Attractor & Developer of Talent - Ability to be present locally and recruit talent - You understand how to source talent from the local marketplace and are consistently identifying current and future potential talent, recruiting and searching for talent regardless of the need at the time. This person is an ambassador of the brand and company, creating a diverse pool of interested talent both in the field and office. They create an environment alongside the Branch Manager and VP of Sales where prospective employees are asking to join the Company, and are actively focused on the development of their team, both in the current role and future career path.
- Financial & Reporting Expectations - You are proficient at managing cost in projects, including cost projections, T&M spot offerings, and maintenance for Top 5 Accounts. This person understands how to maximize the cash position in an owner direct project model, monitoring projects on a weekly and monthly basis. This role is responsible for selling, managing, and collecting cash for all recurring revenue and project revenue for the branch.
- Proactive Approach - You know how to manage and build a relationship with a building owner and business executives to drive a successful deal closure. This role maximizes all gross profit outcomes by selling solutions, closely monitoring resources and cost, prioritizing customer retention, and managing subcontractors and vendors. This person understands how to maximize short term profit, ensuring we maintain cash positive, and improve booked margin, while balancing the overall long term goals with the Top 5 Accounts.
- Resource Management - You are able to properly manage a diverse set of resources over both the short and long term, actively engaging both the field and office teams. They leverage business and team knowledge, paired with commission plans and goals to achieve the overall branch's outcome.
- Strategic Alignment - This role supports both the VP of Sales and Branch Manager in executing the Company's strategy locally. You participate in the creation of the localized strategy and have a primary responsibility in executing it.
- Hands-On Experience - You understand how to manage projects, sales goals and a yearly quota, supporting team members in a relentless pursuit of the branch's overall objectives. They are willing and enjoy visiting customers with their staff, and are willing to help their teams in any manner necessary.
- Mechanical Prime Project Execution - You understand how to manage and coordinate the execution of MEP mechanical prime projects to drive on-time and on-budget delivery ensuring customer satisfaction and the safety of team members and subcontractors. They monitor scheduling and sequencing of projects, manage projects according to agreed upon contract terms, and immediately remediate any causes of delay, including spending time with the team to resolve issues and meeting with the customer to manage expectations.
What You Need...
- 8+ years of hands-on, industry-specific experience, including project management.
- 3+ years in a mentor, supervisory, or management of cross-functional teams.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) or equivalent Google Applications.
- Capacity to leverage interpersonal skills to develop and enhance business relationships with stakeholders of all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in effective collaboration and communication (both written and verbal).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.\
- This position may require up to 40% local travel to meet customers at a select group of customer facilities or job sites, attend meetings, entertain, or conduct walkthroughs for possible MEP infrastructure projects, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Previous experience in technical skilled trades execution, most notably hydronic and plumbing system installation, service or maintenance.
- MEP Prime Project Management.
- Demonstration of both sales and operational experience.
- Self Starter who is looking to solve problems and create solutions directly with customers.
- Familiarity with back of house facilities maintenance staff personnel and operations.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.

Work Environment:
- This position operates primarily in a professional office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
- Work tasks may occasionally necessitate travel to local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to the conditions typically associated with a construction site.
Physical Demands:
- In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- This is considered a light work position, which means possible exertion of up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
