The School of Medicine/Department of Medical Oncology at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Research Assistant in Translational Cancer Research. About the Opportunity The Translational Laboratory Shared Service (TLSS) at the West Virginia University Cancer Institute is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support diverse translational oncology projects. This role is central to advancing cancer research through the use of in vitro systems, including patient-derived organoids, and in vivo murine models. The Translational Core operates within a structured framework that includes at least annual progress reporting, with additional updates provided as needed, to support transparency and continuous improvement. Longer term program support is informed by demonstrated progress and leadership review, aligned with institutional priorities. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience in small animal handling and basic cell culture. We are looking for an individual eager to master advanced translational models; comprehensive training will be provided for specialized techniques, including organoid development.
