Medical Director Clinic Team Damien Center Values Dignity-Collaboration-Accountability-Access-Quality-Innovation Founded in 1987, Damien Center is Indiana's oldest and largest AIDS service organization (ASO) and serves more than 8,000 individuals living with or at risk for HIV through a comprehensive, innovative approach to care and prevention. Our purpose is to be a trusted partner in providing services, education and advocacy for all people living with or at risk for HIV and any person seeking a safe and welcoming home for care. Our services include care coordination, clinical and pharmacy services, mental health, housing, and nutrition. Position Summary: The Medical Director serves as the senior physician leader at Damien Center and is responsible for the overall clinical direction, quality, and integrity of medical care delivery across the organization. This role provides direct oversight of medical providers and clinical quality functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on HIV treatment, prevention, and whole-person health. The Medical Director is responsible for establishing clinical standards of care, supporting provider performance and development, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and programmatic requirements, including those related to HRSA, FQHC, and Ryan White-funded care. This role also supports the advancement of innovative, low-barrier models of care that improve access, retention, and health outcomes for the patients and communities Damien Center serves. Education and/or Experience: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required. Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Infectious Disease. Minimum of 8 years of clinical experience, with significant experience in HIV care strongly preferred. Prior clinical leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience in a community health center, FQHC, or Ryan White-funded setting preferred. *Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The Medical Director must possess deep expertise in HIV treatment, prevention, and the HIV care continuum, as well as a strong understanding of HRSA, FQHC, and Ryan White program requirements. Demonstrated commitment to health equity and serving marginalized and medically underserved populations is essential. The role requires strong leadership and team development skills, along with the ability to interpret data and lead clinical quality improvement efforts. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in electronic medical records and healthcare systems is also required.
