Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: Minimum Qualifications Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

  • Must have completed all MA Competencies

Certification:
  • Must actively maintain MA certification.

  • Caregivers must actively maintain their certification, or they will be transitioned to the Medical Assistant title.

  • Caregivers can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support)

Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
