Orbis is seeking experienced former Case Officers to serve as 1099 Training Advisors in support of a partner nation capacity building program in the Middle East. Advisors will design and deliver structured training to partner nation security service personnel, developing their capabilities to conduct collection operations and become operational practitioners of intelligence streetcraft and methodologies. This role is suited for former U.S. intelligence certified core collectors who are as skilled at transferring knowledge as they were at applying it. This opportunity is a 1099 Independent Contractor role.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and deliver structured training curricula on intelligence collection operations, streetcraft, and intelligence methodologies to partner nation security service personnel
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on source development, elicitation techniques, operational security, and collection methodology
  • Assess student competency and progress, providing structured feedback and adapting instruction to meet program objectives and individual skill levels
  • Develop and maintain lesson plans, training materials, practical exercises, and scenario-based assessments aligned with program goals
  • Mentor and coach students through practical application of intelligence collection methodologies, including surveillance methodologies, asset development, and operational planning
  • Collaborate with program leadership and client counterparts to ensure training content aligns with partner nation operational requirements and capacity building objectives
  • Maintain strict operational security and adhere to all client-directed protocols and country team guidance throughout the training program
  • Produce clear and concise training reports, student assessments, and program documentation for Orbis and the client


Deployment Expectations



  • Willingness to deploy for a four-month temporary assignments in the Middle East
  • Ability to operate effectively in austere, high-threat, or rapidly evolving environments while maintaining a professional and structured training environment
  • Flexibility to adapt training schedules and delivery methods to program requirements and partner nation operational tempo
  • Demonstrated cultural adaptability, sensitivity, and professionalism when working with partner nation personnel in overseas settings


Required Qualifications



  • Former U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) certified core collector, i.e. certified case officer
  • Minimum 10 years of operational intelligence collection experience (2-3 field tours), including demonstrated proficiency in source development, elicitation, and streetcraft
  • Prior experience in an advisory, training, or instructor capacity, with the ability to effectively transfer complex operational skills to adult learners from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Deep understanding of Middle Eastern security environments, cultural dynamics, and the operational context in which partner nation services operate
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and cross-cultural engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with partner nation personnel


This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role; candidates must be able to operate as a self-employed advisor and comply with all applicable tax and contracting requirements

Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience developing and delivering training programs using adult learning principles, structured curriculum design, or formal instructor certification
  • Familiarity with interpreter-supported instruction and experience working through linguistic and cultural intermediaries in a training environment


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to deploy and operate in Middle Eastern capital city for a four-month period
  • Capability to conduct field activities requiring prolonged standing, walking, and movement in varied terrain and climates
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to approximately 25-35 pounds
  • Ability to travel frequently, including international and in-theater movement
  • Must meet medical, psychological, and physical readiness standards required for overseas deployment
  • Ability to maintain focus, awareness, and performance under physical and mentally demanding conditions


Work Environment

This position is deployed overseas and may involve challenging living conditions, security risks, and frequent in-region travel. Training advisors will work directly with partner nation security service personnel in structured classroom and practical exercise environments. The role requires individuals who are mission-focused, self-sufficient, and capable of operating with limited oversight while maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct, instructional integrity, and alignment with Orbis and client objectives.
