This is a limited appointment role for an Adult Acute Care NP to join our team at the Ahmanson/UCLA Cardiomyopathy Center for approximately 6 months

The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.

Standardized Procedure(s) outline the requirements for supervision. The Nurse Practitioner reports to the designated medical director for clinical practice and designated person for administrative issues.

Salary range: $93.81-$133.97/hourly

Qualifications
  • CA RN License
  • State of California NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification (i.e. ANCC)
  • NPI#, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS,Enrollment in CURES. Required
  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing. Required
  • Experience with caring for patients with heart failure,
    cardiomyopathies or acute myocarditis, and ventricular dysfunction from
    valvular or coronary artery disease

  • BLS Certification from AHA or ARC- Required
  • ACLS Certification from AHA- Required
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs. Required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel. Required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction. Required
  • Ability to set priorities. Required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence. Required
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner. Required
