Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Supervisor of Laboratory Operations to support the operational management of teaching and research facilities within the Department of Biology and the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (
CCIB) at the Joint Health Science Center (
JHSC). Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Biology, with a dotted-line relationship to the
CCIB Director, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day facilities operations, including laboratory management, maintenance and troubleshooting of common and core equipment, and supply inventory oversight. The role also leads the development, documentation, and implementation of quality standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with the Department Chair of Biology and the
CCIB Director. |

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelors in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with preferred two years relevant laboratory technician or research study experience. An M.S. in a scientific discipline with the relevant training may be substituted for one year of experience. |

M.S. Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry, or related field.
Requires knowledge of scientific empirical procedures. Must understand the fundamentals of the science; read and understand technical documents; perform and develop scientific and quality control routines; develop scientific protocols; articulate data; and operate and maintain sophisticated equipment. Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats. Must be able to communicate effectively. Will be required to participate in required occupational health and safety programs. Regular work week may include evening or weekend work. |
