DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees major construction, renovation, and preventive maintenance efforts at the Youth Forestry Camp #3 in James Creek (Huntingdon County) and the South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit in South Mountain (Franklin County). By dividing your time between these two locations, you will ensure safe, effective, and well-maintained environments that support the mission of BJJS. As a Facility Operations Manager 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Project Leadership: Coordinate construction and renovation projects by working with internal staff, contractors, and outside agencies
  • Maintenance Oversight: Guide preventive maintenance programs and train staff to follow proper procedures
  • Facility Planning: Assist in setting priorities for facility needs and provide information for budget planning
  • Safety Compliance: Inspect buildings to verify compliance with life safety, fire, and electrical codes
  • Resource Management: Manage materials, equipment stock levels, and the automobile fleet at each facility
  • Energy Monitoring: Review facility systems and recommend ways to reduce energy usage

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Work Location: The work location will be determined by the nearest BJJS work location closest in proximity to the selected candidate's county of residence, which includes Franklin and Huntingdon counties.
  • This position requires travel and the availability to take calls after hours and on holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Facility Operations Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of experience performing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings which includes three years of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.
Special Requirement:
  • This position requires the possession of an active motor vehicle license.
